No-worry Coverage
A Trimble Protected Rapid Replacement protection plan covers everything that is covered in your original Trimble hardware factory warranty, plus more. If the unexpected happens and your equipment has to be repaired, that’s no problem. Your protection plan ensures that you pay nothing out of pocket for parts and labour on covered repairs. There’s also no deductible or fee associated with covered repairs. Repairs are typically completed faster because there’s no need for your distributor (Vantage NZ) to generate an estimate and get your approval before starting work. Protection plans are money and time savers.
Value-Add Features
Trimble protection plans’ value comes in the additional features and benefits available to you as long as you own the coverage. Their protection plans’ value add features include:
- Protection against surges when using Trimble power supplies.
- Protection against wear and tear** from repetitive use that causes your equipment to not function to specification. For example:
- If the part can no longer perform the function to which it was designed solely because of its condition (due to usage), it’s covered by wear and tear.
- Protection from environmental damage from dust, heat, humidity and salt
air when used in accordance with intended equipment specifications. - Replacement of licenses and unlocks for no cost if a covered display or receiver is repaired or replaced.
**Cosmetic damage that does not affect the functioning of the unit is excluded from wear and tear coverage.
Frequently Asked Questions
A Trimble Factory Warranty is typically 2 years from the date of purchase of a product.
You can add a Protection Plan at any time for Trimble hardware (serialised hardware only). Trimble Protection Plans can be added for a maximum of 5 years at a time for all eligible items.
If for whatever reason your Trimble items fails under it’s factory warranty the item will typically need to be sent away for repair to Australia or the USA. The items that have failed and the labour included to replace the failed items is covered by your factory warranty. The standard service callout fees from Vantage NZ and shipping of the failed item to and from the repair center is at the cost of the customer.
If your device fails under a Trimble Rapid Replacement Protection Plan (the only type of Trimble Protection Plans we offer here in NZ), your support call gets triaged as per standard VNZ process. As soon as the issue is identified the faulty item will be replaced with a stock item from VNZ, meaning no shipping to a repair center is necessary, reducing cost and more importantly time to get you back up and running.
Your Trimble Protection Plan covers the cost of the replacement part, as well as the VNZ service callout charges, meaning there is no cost to get you back up and running then and there.
As per the table below, there’s lots more coverage in a Trimble Protection plan than the standard Factory Warranty. Key features include:
- Transfer of any licenses and unlocks for the affected item (this is not covered under Factory Warranty)
- Protection from normal wear and tear
- Protection from environmental damage – eg moisture ingression, high/low temperature changes etc
- Protection from damage due to power surges (as long as Trimble power supplies are used)
- Dealership (VNZ) costs for the service callout
- The cost of the replacement device (if your device is no longer available them a replacement item with the same functionality will be used, often this is a newer model device)
Talk to the team at Vantage NZ. We can look up the age of your device, and see if it can still be covered by a Protection Plan or not.As hardware ages and end-of-servce-life dates get notified this limits the length of time you can add a Protection Plan to an item.
When you first buy a Trimble item from Vantage NZ is the best time to buy a Protection Plan, and for as long as you can. This ensures that you’re covered (even through the Factory Warranty period) for the wide range of coverage that TPP offers.
Alternatively, the next best time to buy a Trimble Protection Plan is before your Factory Warranty runs out. This reduces your cost by not having to buy a reinstatement plan for the first year.
No, serialised items are the only items able to be covered by Trimble Protection Plans. For example, displays, recievers, steering motors, radios, modems, etc.

Replacement protection plan, you can look forward to lapse-free
coverage after your factory warranty has expired. If your equipment is not covered by a protection plan or factory warranty now, we also offer a great reinstatement option to bring your equipment back under coverage with a protection plan.
